Construction & Surety Law
Construction and surety law is a substantial portion of our practice. We handle every facet of construction law, from bid analysis and protests to surety bond claims. Members of the firm have represented owners, engineers, contractors, suppliers and sureties in both private and public work disputes. This work has included bid protests, negotiating and preparing contracts, mechanics lien foreclosures, payment and performance bond claims, licensing board complaints, licensing bond claims, prompt payment claims, delay claims, acceleration claims, design disputes, and an array of other contract performance controversies.

Business/Commercial Law
The firm acts as an advocate and counselor for contractors in recovering sums due for work on construction projects, and for other businesses for commercial sales. The firm has handled cases involving breach of contract, business torts, mechanics liens, contract surety bonds, open accounts and secured transactions. The firm also represents creditors in bankruptcy. The firm's members have experience in pre-judgment remedies of injunctive relief, writs of mandamus, attachments, along with post judgment collection efforts and enforcement of judgment liens. In addition, members of the firm have experience in Petroleum Marketing Practices Act and Perishable Agriculture Commodities Act disputes. The firm also handles transactional business matters for clients, including forming business entities, drafting and negotiation of contracts, commercial leases, loan agreements, and counseling clients regarding loss and litigation prevention.

Insurance Coverage Law/Bad Faith Litigation

The firm counsels clients regarding insurance coverage issues and acts as the clients advocate in bad faith litigation. Members of the firm have represented both insurers and insureds with respect to coverage controversies, claim presentation and analysis, and disputes regarding priority and apportionment of losses where multiple policies and carriers were involved. Such cases have involved commercial general liability insurance, builders risk insurance, homeowners insurance, automobile insurance, title insurance, and professional errors and omissions insurance.
